1. What is custom airbrush tanning?
The custom means that the color and tone is specially formulated to match YOUR skin type (not a one-size fits all). Airbrush means that your tan is hand sprayed, applied evenly, gently and by a professional rather than a “car wash style” machine. Your “tan” is a safe and natural looking shade – as if you just walked off the beach!
2. How does the sunless solution work?
- The active ingredient in all sunless tanning solutions is DHA. DHA is derived from simple sugar and is made from sugar cane.
- The DHA bronzer interacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin and produces your “tan”.
3. Is it safe?
In the 1970’s the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added DHA permanently to their approved list of cosmetic ingredients.
- DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by
- The American Medical Association
- The Skin Cancer Foundation
- American Academy of Dermatology Association
4. How long does it last?
Your sunless tan will last approximately 5-10 days (depending on skin type and care) and fades naturally as your skin exfoliates. We also carry a variety of products for use pre and post tan to ensure a longer lasting tan including gentle soaps, pre-tan exfoliators, and tan extending moisturizers.
5. What should I wear? What if I’m modest?
For the comfort of our female clients, sunless tanning sessions will be performed by a trained, female technician. You can wear as much or as little as you wish! Many of our clients want that “no tan line” look, while others prefer to wear a swimsuit or underwear.
6. Should I wear sunscreen?
YES! Your custom airbrush tan is cosmetic only and will not provide protection from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays.
7. Does the solution smell bad?
NO! Unlike the “over-the-counter” and booth style sunless tanning solutions that have that awful smell, our specially formulated products are designed to eliminate that unpleasant smell and actually smell good!
